What we do

We run an annual speaker series, inviting exciting thinkers who often challenge the prevailing orthodoxy on campus to advocate libertarian ideas among the Columbia University community.

We hold regular meetings, debates, and events intended for Columbia Students to learn more about libertarianism.

We participate in inter-club political events and forums, giving a voice to those left out of the two-party strangle-hold on American political discourse.

How to get involved

CUL Membership is open to all students, alumni, faculty and staff of Columbia University and its affiliated schools. Apply to join us here.

We hold weekly meetings on Thursdays at 8pm during the fall and spring semesters. We also hold bi-monthly General Body Meetings centered around specific discussion topics open to all interested. Reach out for more details.

Make sure you never miss an event! Join our mailing list, send an email to majordomo@columbia.edu, with a blank subject and this in the message body: subscribe libertarians-all .

About the Columbia University Libertarians

We are a non-partisan group that believes in the Libertarian principals of individual liberty, limitations on government intervention, and free markets. Here at CUL, we seek to identify and evaluate the implications of our philosophy of freedom in our rapidly changing, modern world, where overarching principal of liberty takes on more nuanced applications in practice. Members hold a wide range of thought on today's core issues, and we seek to expand upon these opinions in our meetings. We hope you will join us and participate in lively discussions!
